monique maion is jazzy blues
classically-trained Monique Maion is an international performer/recording artist with a long list of music/video awards from france, germany, greece and brasil. rolling stone magazine described her unique vocal style as "Paulista’s (sao paulo) new voice of jazz”. in 2014 she relocated to Venice beach near los angeles. While exploring her skills in arranging and writing music her releases are available on iTunes & amazon, besides a schedule of performance dates monique can be heard DJ-Broadcasting on her show 'The tropicali radio show'' on los angeles fm station KTPC 99.1 FM.
Monique's music is a reminder of the reliance upon importation of african slaves whose cultural roots are a dominant influence on popular music today. monique maion honors this heritage with an invigorating blend that favors big mama thornton, Tom Waits with a hint of Scott Fitzgerald wrapped in the sensual charm that is brasil.
